To say the least, I was blown away with the Loki booth at SIA this year. For this in-depth look into the new one-of-one line for Loki, we must start from the ground up. For this season, Loki really put in work on some new and improved camber and bases. The new tech aids the all new bases and wider footprint in floating on top of dry Colorado powder. Loki’s newWolfTraxbases are revolutionary to the ski-touring world as well....

Frequent shouting at the TV took place in the NS SIA room. Bobby Brown had some slight imperfections for a 74.0, Geopper missed a grab on his Triple. Oystein was lucky to escape from his first run nutsack intact after catching a tip on a switchup transfer. End of run 1, McRae’s score was looking hard to beat. Both Joss and Evan McEachran had crazy top sections but crashed on triples on the last jump....

“They went grip walk rather then wtr on most of the attack bindings. The update is to the toe piece mainly. It’s more robust then before but maintains the good low stack height of the previous. Grip walk is good as unlike wtr it does not require the toe height to be adjusted. Instead it uses a sloped afd so without adjusting it can accept alpine or gripwalk soles. You will also see it on market bindings this season....
Slopestyle qualis just went down in Aspen and it was a fairly typical slopestyle contests in all its aspects. There were some definite highlights in the form of ABM and Woodsy doing some original tricks and changing up. But even Wallisch in the commentary booth was commenting on how few and far between standout moments were. The scoring clearly took significant account of rails though, which was dope to see....
Words by Ben Amburgey. Isaac Wright sending a 5 The weather on the day of the comp was great. Although it was a little cloudy temperatures got close to 40 degrees making the snow nice and soft. Perhaps the biggest victory of the day however was for the park itself. The Park Shark Challenge continues this Saturday with a stop at another community run Mountain; Titcomb in Farmington. Registration starts at 3, come by for a fun time!...
For me, the story of the past week is comebacks. Judging by the website, Skibyen is open to the public and Andreas might even coach you.Dream trip much? I’d argue Wrecka is the OG responsible for the direction of much of skiing today. Do you think we’d have The Bunch or even BE Inspired without Hornbeck? I don’t think so. That straight air ender is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen for some time....
Some of you may recognize them but for many, the name won’t ring a bell. For this weeks installment, we turn our heads towards the colliding world of Finlands mountains and streets. Ville Vuori has a knack for the two, proving he is a well-rounded skier. But thats where I think the beauty of these articles is able to shine. If people arent familiar with the name, an edit with standout tricks can often go by the wayside....
WINNER: ALEX HACKEL Selecting edits for Style Showdown is not always an easy process. But this week, two skiers, both insane at jumpsandrails, posted edits from Mount Hood. And, each edit features a nearly-identical lineup of filmers. If that’s not enough for you, just watch the end of the video. I don’t even care if those triples were stomped or not. The edit is all jumps until the 1:46 mark, where Reed starts punishing every rail in his path....
