VOLCANO SUMMIT: CLIMBING TAHOMA (MT. Cue the flexibility mentioned earlier. After reaching the Glacier Basin snowfields, we finally were able to start skinning. Low visibility kept us protected from the sun but added complexity to navigation. Minimal wind, reasonable temperatures, and crystal-clear visibility made for incredible climbing conditions. Some careful navigation around open crevasses provided an incredible perspective on the sheer magnitude of these glaciers. Recreating these perennial accumulations of crystalline ice is always a very humbling and somewhat mystic experience....

The final Big Air event of the season went down in Tignes this evening (Euro evening). The riders like this event, and the show was spectacular, and it showed in the riding. Shot of the day had to go to this boss gran in the crowd though. More authentically gangster than any skier out there. Tess Ledeux sent a dub 14 but came up a little short and got bodied....

The PBR (Pro Bowl Riding) brings a unique and creative course to the Canadian Rockies. Skiers will have 3 days to learn, ride, and film on the private course. _ Format: Come shred, get some tricks and stack some clips. 10AM - 10:30AM: Riders Meeting on course. 10:30AM - 3:30PM: Open Jam. 3:30PM - 5PM: Apres at Trappers. 10PM - 2AM: Official After Party (Location TBD). Dedicated skiers, who like to film, and have fun. and those that came before have set the tone for everyone lapping Grouses park. That environment solicits everything fun and what skiing is supposed to be. Still, all of them unanimously came together to make time to film for Exit Strategy. Beginning of the year - the question was could we make something happen? Most of us are on the comp schedule....

It has taught me that I can be successful for my abilities rather than my appearance. Skiing has molded me into the person I am today. However, my deep love for the sport and community feels, at times, unreturned. It is a masterpiece as a film so shout out to director and dear friend Mathias Skaarup. However, in both cases, I was left with a feeling of being on the outside....

Halfpipe is burly as fuck. 87.66 set a pretty high early bar though. Amy Fraser stomped back to back 9s but the grabs were a little wayward. Switch 7 japan was perfect though and she scored a huge 91.33. 96.33 and she has more in the bag. Did the judges leave enough space? Run 2: Pipe being pipe, we saw lots of similar runs in run two. Svea got a little bucked in the transition riding switch on her final hit....

It’s hard to say much new about pipe, it’s pipe. _ Run 1: Tristan Feinberg opened proceedings but came a cropper on a down the pipe dub 9. Hunter Hess opened with his sick switch cork 5 tweaked safety but couldn’t put it down. Alex Ferreira stomped, it was a touch wild but the tricks were hard to top. Brendan Mackay put down four dubs in a row, with the opening switch alleyoop dub 9 the highlight....

The ladies went hard from the word go, let’s get into it! Front swap, front swap to regs was a nice closer. Through run 2, Lisa wouldn’t improve on her first run. Alexa’s run was fairly loose, although she looked to front swap over the barrel. Jennie-Lee Burmansson one of the steeziest rail skiers in the game put on a clinic. It was the first run with no bobbles, 74.66 and preliminary first....

Its crazy to think that in all the years since then, Salomon hasnt released a new freestyle-focused ski. The first ski movie I ever saw, was a Salomon Adrenaline Hunters DVD. Fast forward the best part of a decade and Salomon are back with a much-anticipated bang. I first skied a version of it ages ago, though its changed significantly since then. Its a clear departure from both what Salomon, and other ski brands, are doing right now....

Salomon is back in (post-?)freeskiing. That in itself is huge news. But the ski that launches today has to be easily the most teased, longest-developed that I can remember. When did this new Salomon project actually get started? Then we were supposed to start working on this new idea in 2020, but COVID hit. In 2022 we finally got back to working on the Depart project. And not just bring back a random ski in Salomons line up....

Oh, and theres still a good chance of getting a pow day, too. We were in Utah in early April last season, and it was blower. We reckon the ultimate spring road trip takes place in both Cottonwood Canyons and Park City....

Thanks for jumping in here Lucas. That led to working together on various projects. Otherwise, they like to throw big parties. They have breweries kind of all over. I think they have four or five across the West Coast. So yeah, at each one they have this big party and show some ski and snowboard movies. Essentially, they rented a house in McCall and are using it as a base to go skiing....
