In-Depth Review: 2021 Line Honey Badger

Brands send us the sticks and we spend a solid chunk of our own seasons shredding them. Its the snarling, punching above its weight badass of the natural world. The name conjures an image of rampant destruction in a modest looking package. So does the ski live up to its billing? First, a few words about the shape and profile. On paper these are a rockered park ski, with 3mm rise tip/tail and 3mm camber underfoot....

The Jeffrey Kohnstamm Interview

For those who don’t know, tell me about your background and how you grew up skiing? My grandfather resurrected Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood from a state of despair in 1955. My uncle Jeff is now the area operator. Being born into such a privilege, I used to take it all for granted. In middle school I started to find a love for skiing and realized how god damn lucky I was....

In-Depth Review: 2021 K2 Poacher

Brands send us the sticks and we spend a solid chunk of our own seasons shredding them. The Poacher’s 96mm waist fits right in between the Domain (90mm) and the 102s. And then there’s the cambered section, lower than the 92 but not flat like the Domain. I actually quite enjoyed aspects of all three. But the Domain was on the narrow side and that extruded base was too slow....

BE Inspired Premiere Quebec City

A couple hundred people crowded into a warehouse on the north side of town to take in the show. Some of the people there were small, made smaller by their baggy hoodies. They looked like miniature Dom Laportes or, more accurately, sized-down Phil Casabons. Phil is, after all, the man they were there to see. The other is of course Henrik Harlaut, the joyous Swede, the grinning face in this masterful duo....

Level 1 'Pleasure' Premiere

Level 1 premieres never disappoint. The stoke from kids meeting their favorite pros was palpable. Twig, claimed that last year with Small World but I reckon this has it beat. But the highlight of the show? Certainly not your run of the mill, ski movie commentary. Level 1 mixed a perfect amount of humor and information which made for a really cool cinematic experience. Speedflying with Joseph INNES

Speedflying emerged in the early 2000s. Located halfway parachuting and paragliding, this activity can be part of the extreme sports. The pilot uses a small area glider that can move at high speed along the slopes. Coming from England (Stroud, Gloucestershire), he lives from 2 years in Chamonix (France). It has been my only other real obsession that lasted years. Climbing led me to Chamonix, and Chamonix made me question why I was climbing....

Unbuckling the suicide belt

I was at work recently when a man came up to me to order a hot dog. I went out and reintroduced myself and he was stoked that he remembered me as well. But he did say something to me that I wanted to share with all my skier friends. He had recently read an article about the well documented but rarely publicised phenomenon of the Suicide Belt. The Rocky Mountains in North America has suicide increasing at an alarming rate....

Alex Hall Missing: Last Seen Doing World's First Switch Triple 1800

https://www.instagram.com/p/BKD9dK4BaIY/ Concern is mounting over the whereabouts of Alexander Hall, 17, last seen in Australia spinning 1800degrees and flipping three times off a snow wedge before vanishing in a flash of light.Similar flashes have been sighted in the past, most frequently accompanying the disappearance of a Delorean. While the athletic skill required to perform such a feat is unquestionable, our primary concern is the future of skiing, in which Alex looked set to play a starring and creative role....

Hype Train

The movie is largely shot by Evan Lai-Hipp and self-funded by the crew. The vibe behind the project is pretty simple. BUFU will run at roughly 15 minutes with full street and backcountry booter segments. Lupe is rightly stoked on an experience he describes as unreal. It started with the beginning of the season anticipating winter. Before you know it youre on this wild ride of highs and lows. At the end of the day, its all worth it....

Vice Versa

The new movie, their first full length, definitely continues in the same vein. This is a ski film with no frills attached. For those of you who long for the return of those days, this is a much watch. But of course the riding now is on a whole other level of crazy. The film opens out with a shared segment from ON3P team mates Magnus Graner and John Ware....
