As we all know, WCS is done forever. This forced Public Day to the end of the week. Some boys took it upon themselves to build a booster off a run. Others took to Gypsy Island to build pump tracks and get some skiing in. However, most athletes stayed at Windells and skated. Megan is the 5th girl to receive the scholarship since Sarah passed away in 2012. Whenever I am on the hills I feel at ease and in my happy place just like Sarah. Sarah was so cheerful and made skiing so enjoyable for everyone around her. Saying that skiing is her “happy place” could have been a quote from Sarah. The brain, mental health, and relating problems is an area that we understand far too little of. When Dave killed himself 3 months ago it came as a shock to many. It brought out a mixed range of emotions from people. Mental health is something we seem to know little about. It’s confusing, many times it brings up less than happy thoughts.
