Central Pacific Ski Club, Charge Hard!

What do you think of when you hear the words Central California? Surfers, blondes in bikinis, that dude from Tosh.O that was, “totally Pitted”? What we really should be majoring in is Apres skiing. Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Utah, British Columbia; we’ve done it all. Driving 15-20 hours sounds like a total nightmare, unless of course you’re inebriated the entire time. Stage 1: Turn the fuck up Stage 2: Pit stop in Vegas anyone?...

Three R's, One Z: Burrrlapz in Revelstoke

Photos: Matt Sklar “Burrrlapz sucks.” Thats what they say, anyway. Dylan Siggers, and Josh and Brody McSkimming, Essex Prescott and Kevin Frank too. They were in Revelstoke last week and they sounded pretty sure about it. We wondered if it was true, if Burrrlapz really sucks. Beyond that, they like Skateline. They tend to see this sport as being pretty stupid, though at a certain point who doesnt? And sometimes the guys will disregard the question altogether and tell him no, go mega fast....

X Games Oslo Men's Halfpipe Results

But he still scored a 91.33. Aaron Blunck went down looking for back to back switch dubs, which is mental. Benoit Valentin went big but landed his last hit kind of sloppy. What need is there? Gus crashed second hit and Kevin Rolland on his fourth, end of run 1. Aaron Blunck went a bit deep on his switch to switch dub 9 and eventually ran out of pipe. Run 3:...

X Games Oslo Women's Halfpipe Results

Cassie Sharpe immediately bumped her thanks to back to back flairs and 6 hits for an 86.0. Maddie Bowman had a pretty decent run but are grabs are optional in women’s pipe for some reason? She doesn’t grab her 9 though. Brita Sigourney got an 82.0 for some reason and 3rd. Devin Logan and Janina Kuzma couldn’t better their scores. But it is what it is and she did go briefly third....

X Games Oslo Men's Big Air Results

Felix Usterud backed it up with a switch dub 14 but only tickled the grab. Should have been first but was only good enough for second. Bobby Brown crashed on a triple 14 deep in to the landing. He’s good at hyping up the crowd too. Oystein did a mirror image of Gus' switch dub 14, bumps Henrik for second. Fabian Boesch put down his triple 16' with ease and a clean grab for first with a 94....

This Is Where We Live: Where'd all the Time Go?

Time flies the same when youre doing nothing as it does when youre having fun. Or maybe its just that nothing and fun have conjoined. Either way, the idiom has less to do with enjoyment than it does attention. See: January came and went in a series of storm cycles that faltered en route from the coast. Clouds hung around like damp cotton. The freezing level jumped and dove. And hey lookit, still no job....

SENA

After using the SENA SNOWTALK for multiple days at the resort battery life is clearly not a concern. However we noticed as the battery life depletes so does the range on the intercom. Enough range for filmer and athlete to talk through the line before calling out 3-2-1-DROPPING! They’re also compatible for up to 4 headsets to be connected. However after a couple days It started to become a little easier....

My Solo Japow Adventure

Around a year ago, a friend of mine told me he was going to Niseko, Japan. For month’s following, I continued chipping away, planning out the little details. By the end of the summer, I finally had enough money to purchase my plane ticket. I realized at that point, why not do it by myself? Shortly afterwards, I bought my flight to Tokyo, and booked my reservations. The following months I continued to plan, and determined which area’s would be best to ski at....

Roofbox: 2016 Faction Candide 4.0

Faction skis Candide 4.0s are the elder statesmen of the Candide lineup. It took me roughly 7 days of riding to get comfortable on the 4.0. I found myself butt checking or hip checking a few steep turns. I stopped worrying about getting bucked around by afternoon chop. The 4.0 ploughs through crud ferociously, and remains stable once you set an edge and commit. With the 4.0 I also found the confidence to hit bigger and burlier features....

Today I wanted to piece together some of my favorite edits that have come out this season. With each edit I’ll post a little reason why I enjoyed watching it. So lets get shit started. First we have Slave Ship by The Troupe. Featuring the stylish skiing of Taylor Bond, Quinn Wolferman, Aiden Ulrich and many other style aficionados. In this edit, Mr Elston tears Mt. Bachelor’s parks a new one with some of the illest skiing I’ve seen this year....
