One thing youll rarely find is this twenty-three year old skier staying still. Meeks is among a vanishing breed of diehard skiers, the true vagabond, the quintessential ski bum. In 2011 he made that dream a reality, moving to Salt Lake City. His video parts have come out in The Hood Crews annual movies and on Newschoolers.com. It was the first time we all travelled together and first time for everybody in Japan. Over there it was so crazy deep, we’d never seen anything like it! Tell me a bit about the guys who do the filming?...

I was there with the boys behind the movie ‘Late’ which you’ll hopefully have just watched. Aaron McLean opening the taps… In the grand scheme of things though, it made no difference. The skiing itself is straight-up gnarly in places, think steep narrow couloirs to heather/rock run-outs. Scotland is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever skied. Where else can you ski couloirs besides running waterfalls looking down on the heather-covered highlands....

Did you make it through the winter without major injuries this year? How do you do it? Fortunately, this season left me unscathed, aside from the usual bumps and bruises. I like to think that I simply did a solid job of this, more often than not. At this point, skiing street is just what I do. Going out each season and putting together a video part brings me so much satisfaction....
