The steep terrain there, known as Granite Canyon, is located within the Grand Teton National Park. Current access is backcountry gate and hike only. The whole area is a terrain trap and contains very few ‘safe’ zones. So allowing easy access to anyone with a lift pass could conceivably lead to a serious loss of life. There’s certainly near unlimited ways to do so in the mountains over here. In fact if you’re new to Jackson, avoid the whole Granite Canyon area....

Henry Bendinelli passed away last week at the age of 91. He started skiing on Mt. Hood before Timberline lodge was even built and was skiing there until the end. Last season, Henry was still ripping up the slopes at Timberline and Sun Valley in his 90s! I can only hope to be able to still be alive by then, let alone still skiing. “Henry enjoyed skiing, bicycling, and dancing with the ladies....

A couple of weeks ago now, I was lucky enough to hit up Stubai with Amplid. Nobody did a triple. That fact alone sets this article apart from 95% of the content coming from the Stubaier Gletscher lately. The Prime Park Sessions were in full swing and pretty much everyone whos anyone in skiing was there. For everyone else it was a 30+minute lap to hit 6 features. … so we did a lot of this instead....

But to me, the real star of the show is the filming and storytelling of Gavin Rudy. You’ll have to watch the film to see what I mean but to me it’s pretty special.
