4 Dudes in a Subaru

I’m not actually sure, but we are about to find out. Starting January 1st we will be kicking off the first ever Ski Sock Subaru Roadtrip. We’ve talked about this kind of trip for years and figured it was finally time to do it. If you see a gaper with a fanny pack chasing three other skiers it’s probably us. This makes the Alliance perfect for a road trip or two....

5 Days Left: Win your spot at the B&E Invitational

As it stands, there are only 6 entries from the ‘rest of the world’. So put something together and you have a pretty decent chance of winning. Look at who’s been invited this year. This isn’t going to be your traditional video contest. They will actually be looking for style, creativity and something different. If that describes your skiing this is an amazing chance to get recognized for it. What should the video edit look like?...

In Depth Reviews: Batalla All MTN Twins

Pretty much every brand, large or small, makes a ski that aims to do it all. When I opened the box, the first thing that I noticed was that the topsheets are beautiful. The sidewall finish was smooth and I couldn’t find any kind of edge gaps. Very impressive for the first run out of a new factory. Topsheet shot, note the significant taper both tip and tail. They are stiffer than anything I’ve ever skied, which is marketed as a jibby ski....

Solid 7: Crews That Should Comeback

Shoutout to TallxT Dan for being my lovely encyclopedia of knowledge. 2bi4 Matt Pothier, Mark Pomkyota, Tyler Whelan, Colby James West. Just a few of the names that compiled 2bi4’s all star crew. Creighton Elinski brought the Tail 5 to the masses with his banger 2010 KOS entry. Even with Bury The Hatchet, 2bi4’s attempt at making a crew comeback. #WTA https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/744234/YMsummeR ClownSchool Not much more to say here than this....

Matt Harvey, Founder of Newschoolers Q&A

The original site was as basic as they come. Nothing but a couple of profiles of some sick riders, and three trick tips. The site needed something more. It needed more content. It needed to be completely interactive. Members loved the interactivity, and guests loved the content. As the site continued to grow to new levels, so did the glitches in the code. The possibilities are endless as thousands of new forum posts appear each week, and new members join daily....

Terrain Park Armor: Your personal bodyguard.

What does this mean exactly? For me it is park armor. Now I know there have been several really large discussions/threads on Newschoolers about the importance of helmets while skiing. I don’t want to get into the helmet debate here. Helmets save lives, science and studies agree. As in, pretty much full body armor. Additionally it does not cause me to lose any range of movement as it is fit properly....

Salomon Ghost FS 90, the Full Tilt Killer?

When Salomon first introduced the SPK in 2006 it was something really new in the world of park boots. It became a favourite with park riders who enjoyed the cushioning and padding not available in other boots. Last season when Salomon announced they were replacing the SPK with a new boot, reactions were mixed. One of the things which made the SPK popular was the relatively wide last of the boot at 104mm....

Dew Tour 2014 Men's Pipe Final

Things got rolling quickly in round 1, as Alex Ferreira set the bar high with a 90.25. His run was good enough for an 84, and fourth place after the first round. If there was any doubt he’s next in pipe skiing, he laid it to rest right there. Meanwhile Wise, not to be outdone by his junior, threw down a 94.75. When it was all said and done, Torin Yater-Wallace found himself on top of the podium once again....

Solid 7: Dew Tour

The man is just a wizard and one of my favorite skiers to watch. https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/677102/Vinni-Cash-Getting-Funky Joffrey Pollet-Villard has rocket boosters attached to his skis. Take Notice: The Evan McEachran Story

Snowpark Niagara, in Niagara Falls NY of all places, held a surprisingly good rail jam in 2009. The grand prize was a trip to Windells, and the event drew a pretty big crowd. He was with someone else, probably his brother, who looked about 16. I look at this 12 year old and he looks fierce. He and his brother get to the top, and ski down just greasing the rails....
