This is a great and wondrous thing! In the truck on the pass road, a last minute decision parks us in the Taylor lot. In short order the four of us are on our way up the skinner. Hitting the South East ridge of Taylor Mt. The Bomb makes quick work of one thirty foot section of a North East facing cornice. The East face of Taylor is just gorgeous and demands respect....
So the past month has been the wildest and longest month of my life. But weather this year was the complete opposite, it was bluebird everyday! As for the competition it went pretty well. I ended up 5th in slope which I was really stoked on. But I was still stoked because the pipe was cut super well and was really fun to ride. Literally I was everywhere around town!...
Flying under the radar seems to be Ted Ligety’s MO. But then again, it’s Ligety himself who takes it all in nonchalant stride. “I woke up to a text from Sasha ? then rolled over and went back to sleep. Either way I was really excited when I was overlooking the footage, the Gopro takes some good photos. I was really surprised that it caught a photo of me hopping over the bergschrund. We always wear climbing harnesses when skiing in AK because there are dangers like this.
Well, all good things come to an end, and it looks like Marco Feichtner (aka Fichtl) may have had his last day of powder for this season. He was out shooting pics on this killer powder day with Gigi, Bjorn, Ludsch and Flo, when he got bitten by a landing and twister his shoulder again. He reports that he’ll have to spend a good amount of days resting and recuperating....
