More Snow on the Way!

The sun came back out on Sunday giving a much needed break from the 6 days straight of snowfall. Clouds have returned today as another storm moves down off the coast of CA just missing us. This should continue into Saturday as the low sits almost stationary off the Pacific NW coast. Areas of convection wrap into the coast that are not picked up by the models this far out....

Walkin Down the Street to the Hardcore Beat?.

listening to music the whole day (and occasionally, to me ? It allowed the carrier to JAM everywhere he went (despite the wishes of his surrounding peeps) 2. It created a portal from which the carrier to express, make a statement, and entertain ? It probably exposed a lot of people to a whole new world they never even knew existed. It most likely sparked impromptu dance parties, that before this wonderful creation, would not...

Techno Telemark Update from Martha Burley

I finally 100% committed and have made the plunge and am stoked? The first worry was that everything would feel different and I would have to relearn the telemark turn. The TX Comp is my favourite by far! I think this comes down to the way the new binding system is set up. The skier ends up using different muscles to flex the binding. Whereas before the whole body went into a turn now only a few muscles are needed....

Old School.

These skis are so old that they don’t even have any sort of binding. I attached each of them with a peice of flat rope and that worked well enough. I did some research by looking up the label on the ski. They were made by Northland Ski Manufacturing Company in St. Paul Minnesota. After trying them out I am happy to say that ski technology has come along way....

Round Up from Crested Butte

My good friend, teammate and fellow Faction rider Drew Peterson won the event! I also won the first annual Tecnica Blizzard Free Mountain Award. This is awarded to the best skier both on and off the hill....

8 Feet & Counting……

Expecting light to moderate snowfall today accumulating up to 6-9 inches. Then by tonight the snow becomes heavy again and we could pick up an additional 12-15 inches. That’s another 18-24 inches by tomorrow mornings snow report. Alpine has a good shot at hitting 10 feet of snow for the 6 day storm total by Sunday. That low will move through tomorrow reinforcing the cold air for the weekend. Sunday we will dry out and I think see the sun at some point....
