So we are in Vail training. Super warm, lucky they got a big snow storm last week. The hill is prepped to perfection, almost to well for me. I came from Saas Fee doing drills and stubbies to iced down full length. ha ha well Im ready but need to ease into things. I had a tough day mentally. Back in colorado, about a year since I was injured and new snow....

We just put the finishing touches on the new park for this weeks upcoming Team Video Challenge. The TVC park is located on South 40 where typically build our early season park. Open at 4pm yesterday it was scene to a heated night session.

The first feature was an up rail/bonk. I could imagine snowboarders having a ton of fun on it but its still hittable for skiers. Next up was a down box thats kind of street style. Just enough to able to practice 2 ins without worrying too much about catching your tips. After that there was the 15 foot flat bar, easily the most popular feature. Its just the right length to do pretty much anything....

Freestylers will be competing for the titles of ?King and Princess of Glacier 3000? at the Glacier 3000 Invitational. For the first time women will also be competing. In the qualifications, each participant can show his tricks in several runs. Colorado was featured pretty heavily in this year’s film. There were scenes in Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Telluride. My favorite part of this year’s film was the soundtrack. Kudos to Travis Schneider who selected the tunes for the film. Wintervention plays at the Boulder Theater through Sunday. The line wasn’t too bad at the Thursday night show. Damn, I wish I could get off of work for opening day at Breckenridge this Friday. They’ve got a lot going on and it definitely sounds like a good time. Specifically BreckBerry French Toast (no I did not just make that up). I’m also pretty intrigued to check out the new Breckenridge Gold Runner Coaster. It’s like a year round alpine slide. Oh, and parking is free all weekend.
