Watch: Markus Eder's Spring Super Sesh 2020

Words by@MarkusEder. Photos by@stefan_mahl. Pretty much all of us had missed the best time to shred of the season. So what was the first thing for them to do once the lockdown finally eased? Go find some snow and see what was still possible of course. Pretty much everything was hand-shaped, including the landings. It certainly didn’t seem like it had been 3 months since everyone’s last ski day. The rails, the hip, and the booter got slain pretty quick....

Dueling Peaks: an Adventure Touring Story

“See where those tracks go?” I said, unconvinced but hopeful. After peeking in the woods for a bit, Adam finally sees something that looks human-made. “Looks like an outhouse for it” he told me. We entered, took a peek inside and decided to continue on our journey. My feet weren’t ready for what was to come yet, but I sure was. But we knew we were making it to the top....

Shoutout To All The Rad Parents!

I just sold my mini ramp. It was hard to even list the thing, but it went to a super rad mom. Her 9 year old son had just gotten into skating and is out on his board every day. Going into the summer she wanted to buy the ramp so he could get outside and skate at home. I let him take some test laps. His mom told him he better skate it a bunch....

Crans-Montana Spring Sessions: Slushy Park Laps Return

Covid-19 has to a greater or lesser degree touched the lives of the majority of humans on this planet. I certainly didn’t expect to get to ski a lift-accessed park again this season. The park, while relatively simple with one rail line and two jumps, was a ton of fun. The vibes were, as befitting a surprise session for snow-starved skiers, all time. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBaLwQDD2jz/ The level of skiing, however, was through the roof....

EA Announces Skate 4

EA Announced skate 4 today. Hell, we had triple corks dialed on the mega ramp before skiers were getting them around. Regardless of the reason for the announcement, this is a big friggin day. The skate series really changed the way “extreme” sports"and video game console controllers interlinked. Will I play skate 4? Do I want to kick EA in the nutsack? This is a pretty cool day regardless. Also the previously mentioned THPS looks pretty sweet....

Skiing, Health and Road to Recovery: With Tom Wallisch

Hey NS, SkierPT here again. I hope to spread information like this from both the Physical Therapist (PT) and the skier/patient perspective. Tom is the skier who inspired me to get into freestyle skiing with his steeze and afterbang. I hope you enjoy his perspective! Tom Wallisch aka the Pretzel Man: 1.) What initially got you into freestyle skiing? I love skiing and the joy of learning new tricks, catching air, and grinding rails....

There are so many people I look up to that are a part of the NS community. Everyone is so talented and inspire me to be the best skier I can be. Its my first go to of the day....

MDV Drops Fagan Twins Following Apparent Racial Slurs

Kiernan and Deven Fagan, both of whom are current members of the US ski team, are seen as two of the leading stars of the next generation of competition skiers. MDV’s Geoff Curtis outlined the reasons for the decision as follows: “We have recently become aware of tasteless and inappropriate social media content featuring freestyle athletes Deven and Kiernan Fagan. MDV holds no ill will toward Deven and Kiernan and we wish them well in the continuation of their skiing careers....
