I started to sh*t on skis, just jumping on little bumps, doing 180s and whatever. I tried stuff that might work, like mute grabs and stuff. I feel like theyre almost the same sport. The Prodigy 2.0X has been updated for 18/19 with more (longer!) sizes, as well as a minor change in shape. Faction rated their flex as a 6/10, which I would say is accurate. To start with the basics, they do their best work on piste. Theyre stable and ski well in wide open, smooth zones where arcing large turns is your friend. It appears almost accidental when this drive aligns with the talent required to ski at the highest level. SuperUnknown XV winner Remco Kayser is a quintessential example of the latter. This is where his passion for skiing really blossomed. To share that stoke, Kayser now helps with those same organizations. Its like it gives me that extra crispy energy and motivation. Plus its not like school is really stopping me from going skiing… Thats exactly how he handled SuperUnknown, skipping classes and hoping it would be okay....

Luckily, multiple regions offer preseason skiing in one way or another. The East Coast is reputable for being home to a different brand of ski culture. A ski culture that involves seemingly unreasonable amounts of passion, grit, pride, and dedication. It ultimately requires an unusual mix of tolerance and passion....

It all begs the question, will we see the return of ‘09 gangster Tom? We can hope for a throwback edit but only time will tell. Coming back to SPY means so much to me. The new Legacy goggle is insane and the Ace EC with the tint-changing lens is truly next level. Tom joins a solid crew of athletes on the SPY roster, including skiers Phil Casabon and Wiley Miller....

There were also some minor speed issues thanks to the warm weather. Fabian’s capped double 16 blunt was perhaps the highlight of the whole session. Mathilde Gremaud topped qualifying for the Swiss on the ladies side too, rounding out a heavy showing. On the women’s side, nobody really stomped two perfect runs but the Swiss dominance continues.
