The 2015 Winter X Games hit the ground running Wednesday night with the women’s halfpipe finals. This victory, even considering all her other accolades, was the sweetest for her. Very few things are as satisfying for an athlete to overcome great adversity and doubt to reach great success. Unfortunately for Maddie, the next morning she logged on to Freeskier.com. From 1998 to 2005, Freeskier played mostly second fiddle to those two other media outlets....

At 2:45 MT the last event of X Games Aspen 2015 started. Kevin Rolland goes down, unable to complete his run. Riddle fell on his last hit with a switch dub flatspin. Wise went huge with a dub 1260, but still couldn’t land his dub cork 14 solid. He finished with a dub rodeo 1080. Ferreira dragged his hip on a right side dub 1260, but skied out of it fine....

From the first wave Gagnier enters the finals with a score of 86 and impeccable steeze. Grab master Tjader is in with an 82. From the second wave Schlopy advances with an 84, and an already massive spin. Mahler with an 84 as well, and Ambuhl is our final skier with an 83.

There are few events in skiing as progressive and well known as Big Air. Six men entered, five left, and three had medals placed around their necks. Tjafer answered with a switch triple, Mahler’s first hit was a switch dub misty. And finally Gagnier came to play with a genie grab to safety. Our winner, Gagnier, looked super cash with his style and insane dub bio 1620 screamin octo.

Biggest first run score ever? Joss Christensen stomped hard including a switch right triple 12 to go second with a 90.66. Nick Goepper added a double misty 10 to his second run but fell on his triple. Gus went down on a switch triple for second time to ruin an otherwise solid run. Woodsy came off early on the third rail feature so again, it’s a low score. Bellemare almost perfects his run again but comes up a little short on the third jump....

Jossi Wells, from everyone’s favorite Kiwi ski family, may have just broke the internet yesterday. Jossi is the king of switch. Before you go saying, “Oh, but Nick McNutt hucked a 69 foot cliff to switch.” Understand that they both are incredible at skiing switch in their respective disciplines but they are different after all. Jossi never ceases to amaze me with his impeccable air control and shifties for days....

Joff Pollet-Villard, the other notable absentee was in Kreischberg due to the lack of an invite. As pipe comps go, this is pretty interesting so far! Full article coming soon. Byron Wells improves on the amplitude of his first run but his score only goes up by 0.33. Again, that’s going to be controversial if he goes out. Great to hear because love him or hate him, he is a legend....

MS: Why the name Park Etiquette? Max:Its pretty funny actually. We have pretty awful park etiquette which is why I thought it was a perfect fit for the series. Got my bell rung pretty good, but my camera was fine and at least the footage was funny. MS: What can we expect for the series? MS: What was your guys motivation for filming this series? Max:Street is hard on you physically and mentally when you are only filming street skiing....

Another notable change is the base. What Salomon has done on the NFX is combine the two. This means is you get a fast base which should still hold up to the abuse of park skiing. Flexing the ski showed promise too. Everyone seems to be interested in edge size these days and the NFX does pretty well. This pair were no exception. I gave them a couple of groomer laps to see what they could do....

Not to mention that tonight is Tinder night. With everyone eager to start a day of skiing, everyone waits at the top for Andy to go. Just the punch in of tricks you would expect from Andy Parry. It doesn’t take long and a massive train of 20 to 30 some skiers ensues. Shit got dangerous After the box session, everyone began migrating over to the rope tow park. With the gang still stoked, numerous mini jams took place on the various boxes and rails....
