Smugglers’s Notch - The east coasts only triple black diamond. At this point in the tour, I am really going to be stepping into the extreme mountains. Smuggs is stop number 18 on the tour, and also my 50th day on snow this season. I could not have picked a better mountain to have my 50th day at. You basically cannot see any of the mountain from the village. After getting my ticket I was informed that the ‘main’ mountain was located up the road....
Over the course of the last year or so, the ski industry has been engulfed in Olympic hype. That is, until Bobby dropped and the finals started firing. Witnessing Goepper and Gus hug and congratulate Joss as he finished his second run was absolutely epic. I have always leaned towards rejecting certain formalities that I perceive as restraining towards skiing. I was wrong in so many ways. Something about seeing three American dudes sweep the podium in Sochi made me a believer....
A stunningly beautiful day welcomed athletes and spectators alike. The terrain of Rosa Khutor above the Extreme Park looks excellent. Can’t wait till the Olympics are over and they let people ski it again. Jump 3 big enough for ya? I was asked by Newschoolers to measure the jumps so I paced them out yesterday. The slopestyle course was perfectly groomed, and fast and firm from the cold night before....
You recently joined ON3P. Whats it like being on indie brands like Bloom as well? It’s definitely nice being on smaller brands than larger ones in my opinion. Nose tweakin' at IRPC Beast Coast or Best coast? Ooh, that’s always a tough one, obviously conditions are better in the West. Favourite Video part Tanner Rainville in “Shanghai Six” could take the cake on that one. That song and the front 6 dub japan is hard to beat....

***Disclaimer: These are only my personal experience. I finally feel like I’m in Russia. As volunteers, we were given the opportunity to watch the opening ceremony rehearsal. the nose bleed seats rival the front row for best view. Sochi is a confusing place; It’s filled with palm trees, rain, and a coastal atmosphere. I knew it was considered “sub-tropical,” but I still thought it would feel more Russian. Then the rehearsal–now it feels like Russia and I’m finally satisfied....
