The perfect day still excist!

But when the forecast is like the picture above, skiing is not an option. As far as I know we are still in February? They have the sickest park, and I even have a season-pass for the resort. Stormy weather over the mountain-pass. Me and Christer in the park. Two good jumps and 3 rails of your choice. Quick laps and good shape. Why am I not here all winter?...

2/26/12 Strip Club

Headed out into the moonscape of the scoured world. Wind event 2012 is in full swing and EV is not immune. One look at the Gore Range says it all. Mountains bathed in white a few days ago are stripped bare, the precious contents transferred to Nebraska. Flagging on the peaks yesterday was huge, clouds of snow pluming off anything above 10000 feet. It reminded me of early December conditions....

The life of a glamorous skier

There is no glamour in skiing, only fun and hard work. I got a reminder of that today. So my job was to dig up the rail, and move it two meters. Took forever, or at least that’s what it felt like. The fun thing about it, was that I got to try something new.

Sunday morning from Oslo

Coffee in the cup and the World Championship Skiflying on the TV. Chilling with my team-manager at his apartement in Oslo, waiting to leave for the Airport to go home. I was setting up my youtube-account against my blogpage on Facebook, when I stumbled upon an old video. It’s as if I have forgot how fun skiing was until I saw this. It is so perfect when you have continuity in your skiing, and keep the snowball running....

2/24/12 Old Man’s Part 2

It sounded like Old Mans ripped above Poc Rock, on the hard scarp area and stepped down. The big question now is what is stopping Benchmark from doing the same? Abe’s is the most popular route through the uppers, besides Tweeners. Deep slab instabilities in areas not skied are the biggest threat in EV.

2/24/2012 Beaver’s Baldy, Fire and Brimstone!

Up Centennial, Cinch and out the gate at the tip top of BC. Signs painted in red blood, screaming murder and suicide!! Shot up lookers left ridge, blowing through big wind rolls and baking soda deposition in between. Cleared the trees and was in the midst of a cross-loaded moonscape of Sastrugi and wind scraped rocks. Made my peace with the afternoon and looked down onto a completely blank canvass....

Geilo Jib Academy

Early morning in the Geilo park. Picture is taken in the afternoon. No wind and sunny weather. Got a manhug from the Swedish too, Oskar Pedersen. Fun week skiing with this guy. Got a few laps with the Contour today as well. After finishing off two good days in Geilo we headed back to Oslo by car. 4 hours with my team-manager Elling. Fun week in different resorts. Good news is that I got a confirmation-email for Austrian Freeski Open in two weeks....
