Carl’s Cabin Trip Report

With a quick tow we were all styling on that first sip of beer well before noon. The weather clouded over as we headed out for the afternoon tour. (Another advantage of the sleds – a fresh feeling afternoon tour.) We climbed through some big old growth up to the ridge above treeline. (Which did upgrade me to an upstairs private suite for night 2). The snow was falling straight down with little wind in that serenity now pattern....

Lots of Snow This Weekend…..

We have a break today before the next storm is ready to dive in tomorrow. This storm will be a much colder storm with a drier & fluffier snow. We could see snow showers start as early as tonight ahead of the main storm. Total liquid by Saturday is 1-1.25 inches. Looking for 15-20 inches at the base and 20-25 inches on top by Saturday. This could keep snow showers going off and on Saturday and Sunday with several more inches possible....

March 10 post

Hey all, It’s been a great few days in the zone. My second run was solo timber falls, always a nice tour solo to get away from it all. Snow was good again, and is one of my favorite places on a powder day. Skied a Benchie left of mushroom rock in the choke. Wed was a great day with an unexpected cell dropping 7 or so inches of light wind fluffiness....

Weather trip post 3/16

Headed into the middle and stayed due north all the way down the bowl. The MVP tres were another story. Overall a good run but with lower elevations warming on all aspects, the lowers are at times arduous.

Burton US Open 2011

Vermont is home to the O.G. (Original Gangster) of snowboarding contests. Athletes from all over the world were greeted by the rain and slush of an East Coast winter. Sopping wet spectators watched as their favorite competitors and Windells coaches threw down, despite the gloomy conditions. Thanks to all those who came out and showed their support! Congrats to the overall winners of the series!

Marco Feichtner Check 1-2-3

Short update… After talking over hours we had three plans going on. Zillertal, Austria Italy and Montafon, Austria. We chose the third plan and we got super lucky! The crew: Werni Stock, Ludschi (photo dog) Bob (filmer) and I! Suffice it to say, I was super happy to shoot again in my home valley. Before the guys showed up, I had already picked the spots we would hit and shoot at!...
