With the added heat of Olympic points to be had this was no different. Alex Ferreira had a bobble on a huge left dub 14 docking his score. David Wise went down on his 4th hit switch double, a throwaway for the veteran. A dope combo of left dub 14 straight to switch right dub 12 was executed perfectly. A well deserved 94.75 put Ferreira out front. The bar was well and truly set now....

Such a clean trip through both the rail and jump sections on Alex’s first run. Spinning these big both ways will be a massive help when it comes to putting up a decent score. A light dusting of snow as the clouds rolled in at Copper this afternoon. She has such a clean style, it’s always good to watch. Totally unnecessary comeback dub for the win. She was so close too, huge props for the send in the shitty conditions. Grab was tweaked too but her rails were a little short of the other girls. What a monstrous first-run from Colby Stevenson. Run 2: The only change up in the top three slots this round comes from Oliwer Magnusson. Big move up the boards here from 8th place to 2nd 88.25. But the biggest comeback of the day would be laid out by Nick Goepper. His run, worthy of an 85.25 from the judges, would catapult him from 26th to 4th place. Truly a run you just have got to watch for yourself....

It is called Mecca Ditch because the big hike up to it can be likened to a pilgrimage. Also, there is a Kaaba-like structure behind it. We had a fun day of setting the course. It runs from the head of the Mecca Ditch to the first bridge. The sunset hike back out is truly a transformative experience....
So, heres an overview of the current backcountry binding landscape. But this is about as unbiased a breakdown as possible. In mountain biking, the adage is strong, light, cheap, pick two. In skiing though, its a little more complicated. And where you fall on that spectrum is different for every skier. Safety is the hardest category to define. They help you avoid blowing ligaments or falling to your death. Don’t read this part unless you’re a nerd....
I really like the Armada vision and I always have, Im super excited for the future. Hopefully thatll go ahead and the whole team will get a big shredon. Yes, it is not always easy. Most women ski contests first and then the film career comes for some. I think there are only a few women who have never competed. It is sometimes sad and hard to see that there is so little recognition in skiing....
That aside, the gnarliest discipline in freestyle skiing was set this years Dew Tour off with a bang. Everyone got sendy and were locked in for another great week of events. Without further ado lets get on to what went down at Copper this morning. With a two run, best run counts format. Kelly Sildaru skiing with a broken thumb and no poles. Thats a lot of hits… although I wonder if it has something to do with injury....

I genuinely couldnt tell that English wasnt actually her first language when I first met her....
