On Groomers / Piste On groomed snow, these skis were a blast in the right conditions. I thought they held an edge impressively and made skiing extremely easy. They arent skiing for charging super hard on groomers but they are very fun for the daily cruise....

Olivia Asselin dropped in with the switch 10 mute grabbed and stomped perfectly. Run 2: Giulia Tanno dropped a switch 10 but kinda sketched it. She seemed ok and the set was super dope, hopefully we see that stomped in a comp soon. Eileen Gu immediately bumped her with a right dub 12 safety for 90.75 and both ways dubs checked off. Johanne Killi put down the switch left 10 tail, but on-axis, for provisional second place....

On the other hand, East Coast resorts command more of a premium for their experiences. Very few people will be surprised to learn the best values can often be found at independent mountains. Of the large resort companies, Alterra generally commands the largest premium for the experience....

So here’s a followup on the topic of Swiss cheese skis. Last year I wrote about myfrustration with the prevalence of mis-mounted skis. But that was never my intent. Rather, ski techs who screw up mounts are simply the final piece in a larger puzzle of failure. Mismounted skis are usually a systemic issue, and we need systemic solutions. And to be clear. Mistakes will happen, even inside of good accountability systems....
