Fixing a Ripped Edge

This spring I noticed that I was losing the edge on a pair of 2017 Salomon Rocker2 100s. This was a relatively simple fix. This is a similar epoxy to the Git-Rot I used in my last repair. Like Git-Rot, it is more flexible than standard epoxies and polyesters, but stiffer than most adhesive sealants. This resulted in a pretty smooth finish. So far that seems to be working fine....

Playtu

Sure you arrived with friends but it was that local knowledge that made it that much better. The idea came to me on the chair lifts. I offered to take him up and over and show him a line if he was up for it. Spanky’s ladder is only about 30 steps up but it takes you into a whole new world. Watching his eyes light up with awe. With a few turns and stopping, turns and talking, and waiting....

Offseason Blues

March used to be the worst time of the year. Back in elementary and middle school, we had a school break in February. and I’d ski Brighton on cheap day tickets from 9-4. Going to sleep that first night in my family friend’s guest room was almost impossible. I’d get absolutely winded from the 8000 foot change in elevation. Then, that week would go by at lightspeed, and I’d take the flight back to reality....

The Commodification of Ski Edits

It’s moreso just Instagram clips posted sporadically and never usually full-length proper edits anymore. This isn’t really a bad thing, it’s just what I’ve noticed. But this isn’t just with trendy skiers, it’s with everyone. Solo projects haven’t been dropping like they used to. Remember when the “Self-edit” was practically mandatory after your season? No hate to the players, all hate to the game. You get what, one minute and thirty seconds to showcase your urban skills?...

Saga Outerwear Trapped In Corporate Limbo

From warehouse robberies to fulfillment issues, Saga Outerwear has had a rough ride over the past few years. But the licensing of the brand by GBG and in-house partnership with Spyder seemed like the turning point. Orders started flowing, the brand began to re-establish itself and the future looked bright. Unfortunately, that has proved to be a false dawn. For the coming season, the brand will be ‘going dark’. The hope was that any brand that could be sold would be done so intact with all employees....

OPINION: Skiing for the "Entitled Virtue Signaling Elite"

What is it about skiing that attracts the entitled virtue signaling elite? Enviromentalists, animal rights activists, and those who are generally concerned with social justice. In this article we will explore why these people ski to get to better understand their motivations. There are also those who appreciate skiing’s cultural history which involves preserving the mountain environment. This is all a sham as skiing uses fossil fuels in the form of artificial snow....

Hunter Hess Talks Pipe Triple

1006579 When did you first think the triple might be possible for you? I didnt personally think about doing it that much. A lot of people were telling me I should do it though. Ultimately, I think that was the main reason it went down. I thought it was possible when I did the QP trip in MAGMA. This was a completely different trick but its the same jot down of concept....
