Alpine Weather: The Sun’s Welcomed Return

We could even break 60 at the base on Thursday and Friday. That will make for some incredible spring skiing on the this huge base. We still have almost 2 more months to go here so we are not done with snow yet. That will allow a storm to move in to our North on Saturday and Sunday. It is looking pretty week right now with only light snowfall on the mountain....

Dry land snowboarding

Spent the afternoon with some friends dry land snowboarding at Riverside park in Auburn Hills. The pictures mainly show the setting up process. The final set up used Powderpak, a rail, and a Banshee Bungee. Stay tuned for video footage.

Post-storm photos of Alpine

It’s interesting to see a mountain stransform literally before our eyes. Astounding scenic beauty previously unknown to many; and skiing and riding simply unforgettable to all. Much of Alpine’s bone structor is invisible at this time. The visual comparisons are mind-bending and infinite. It shows the view looking east toward Beaver Bowl, Hanging Snowfield, and Ward Peak.

Springtime Powder

Yesterday i made the trip over to Denver to talk camera bags with the guys from F-Stop. Spring was in full effect and i was sweating walking around in a jumper in the midday sun. Super basic facilities, super mellow people around and lots of steep trees and powder. All shots taken with my ever faithful Canon S95

A FANTASTIC end to the season.

The weather was sunny but cool, and the water….well…it was cold! It was another SEASON in Paradise, join us again, December 2011. Have a safe and fun summer, Cheers, Mark
