Luke Nelson, took the Young Gun Award at the North American Freeskiing Championships in Kirkwood, as well as 8th place. On the Freeride World Tour website it says “The event was a collaboration between the Freeride World Tour (FWT) and the Freeskiing World Tour in an effort to give the best athletes from both sides of the Atlantic to compete against each other.” Alex Wall was also competing and placed 23rd overall, congratulations to both riders for such great results in a really strong field....

We will see light amounts of snow on the mountain Saturday night through Sunday night above the base. Then Sunday night the cold front approaches and pushes through Tahoe by Monday morning. Starting Tuesday there is a ridge off the coast blocking storms and bringing nice weather for a few days. The location of the ridge at 140w would mean we will get a series of cold but smaller storms....

I?m still getting a feel for the best way to use this camera. Holiday is a great little ski hill in Traverse City, Michigan. It overlooks the East Grand Traverse Bay. We were surprised to see some fresh tracks in the snow....

The organizers at Bear had planed already for a weather day, so everything has been postponed until Sunday. if you would google for ?a perfect shred day? your comp would throw one of those photos onto your screen. Practice gave way to a 30 minute jam session. Each competitor earned points for every single feature in the course. So I am hanging out right now, got here on Feb 25th and want to stay forever! It is such a fun zone and I am sharing it with the Smith Fam, boarders and Skiers. Tyler Ceccanti was here shredding as well as Cody Barnhill and they just left yesterday. Thanks to Tyler Ceccanti for these fine photos.

Notice to anyone considering the most epic skiing trip of all time: look no further than northwest Montana. The shuttle takes about 20 minutes to get to the GNPG base of operations. Everybody there was friendly and down to business, we didn’t waste much time in the office. It took us less than a half hour to leave the base and arrive at our first skiing site. Over half the terrain we skied on during our two days had yet to be skied this year....

Then after a couple inbounds laps, I skied home…

Tuesday and today at Breck. I forgot to film one yesterday, as I was so excited to be back in CO. But this afternoon I decided to do a triple backie line to make up for days missed. Then my phone dies, leaving us unable to film another run. But here it is so I don’t leave anyone hanging. Documenting fun is more difficult than I expected. Wildcat indy, rocket air backie, layout....

We could pick up another 3-6 inches tonight and 3-6 more tomorrow. We get a break on Friday & Saturday before the next storm moves in on Saturday night. This next storm is tapping subtropical moisture from all the way down near Hawaii. This will make this storm warmer than the current storm with higher snow levels. That means you will want to ride the mid-mountain chairs this weekend to stay in the fresh snow....

For a couple days in late February, an epic Team Shoot went down at Snowbasin. How epic you ask? So yah… it was a good time. Here’s what went down…. Shane, Ian and Eric waiting to get their ski on.
