Winter X Games 16: Slopestyle preview

The Winter X Games 16 is going to be kicking off this weekend and Aspen, Colorado won’t be the same. With the standard of freeskiing growing higher and higher as the days go on, we get to see what the riders face. So here’s a nice selection of videos with Nick Goepper, Joss Christensen and Sammy Carlson talking about the course and showing us how they’ll deal with it. So that’s what they’re looking at when the sun goes down and the lights go on in Aspen....

Freeride World Tour ? Chamonix

So i just finished up at the Freeride World Tour over in Chamonix. When the snow cleared and the light came out it was time for the event to go ahead. Busy week travelling for sure! Here’s that dramatic sunrise, and equally a dramatic of line taken from yesterday.

NAME FOR FAME ? Countdown ?

and you could be the WINNER of a super fly Amplid snowboard/skis. Jon Olson gave us the Kangaroo flip. Halldor Helgason?s warped mind invented the Lobster flip. Remember Jim Rippey and Terje Haakonson? Yep you guessed it, they?ve both got inverts named after them too. Now it is time for you to join the club. Amplid wants you to create a completely new trick or add your own little twist to a classic....

Perfect Moment: Perfect Powder

The guys from Perfect Moment have thrown their latest edit my way and if you weren’t jealous of people getting powder when you weren’t, you will be now. My advice is to skip about halfway through to miss out on the snowboarding as the skiing powder comes in towards the end. Shred?n Breakfast shoot-out day

Today was one of the better days here in Breckenridge. Perfect weather, new snow in the slopes, perfect shaped jumps and rail-features. I ended up beeing the last guy leaving the park, which is rarely me. It was me and ystein ?I-know-every-trick-in-the-fucking-world? Braathen, that hit the park until the bitter end. Stoked to hit the slopes again tomorrow. And yeah, I finally learned how to do a underflip. Chair up to the slopes....

The injury that keeps on giving

Everything I had fixed, my ACL medial meniscus, blew up. Popped like bubble wrap on the take off during a tramp session. Backseat landings don’t feel so good without your ligaments holding you together. I kept up at the gym trying to bulk up and create psycho mass in my surrounding muscles. It helped a lot, but it was the twisting on take offs that threw me off big time....

Voleurz: KC Deane ? That?s Fine segment

Voleurz are proud of their latest film That’s Fine and the many segments within it. One such segment is from none other than KC Deane and, well, it’s pretty damned impressive. He pretty much destroys everything in his path in an educational piece that I like to call “How to ski the professional way.” More Ski Videos Related posts:Voleurz: That’s Fine Voleurz’s ‘That’s Fine’ documents the antics and exploits of the…...

What about new videos?

I have not stopped producing edits, but the lack of videos has two reasons: 1.) In the meantime, you might be able to see a new edit from somwhere.

1/20 – 1/21 + Pit Reports

The trip to EV on Friday was an interesting one. Martineast recapped the day well and I only regret not having a camera to take some shots. A few days later, and naturally, I wanted to go and search out some pow. After digging and looking at the snow I was convinced to turn around. With the newly fallen snow, it will be hard to resist heading out for some fresh turns....

1/23/12

Had been two days since I had been back, purposely taking time off due to dangerous conditions. Saw evidence of natural and probable skier triggered avalanches, some of them considerable size. Check out the photos on Lukes report. Glad no one died in EV over the weekend, really thought it might happen. Hard to believe inbounds, though. Not much else to say. Hope to get back to enjoying the pow, but wondering if that is in the cards this season....
