Bluebird days are the most salable and best days to shoot skiing. That being said, the majority of the season involves shooting on gray days. 12+ inches of snow overnight with a deep azure blue sky. IDEALLY…. But….. These days rarely come. So what do you do? You go shoot anyways! This makes the snow look a true white and will create far better looking images....

Received a lot of flak for my Old Man’s slide report. Darwin awards abound, with accusations of suicidal tendencies. The ski cut was purposeful and had the intended effect, as it had before. It is not something that I have repeated and took the results seriously. I apologize for that, but not for my run. c’mon read all our updates and not judge the site by one report. I took the criticism seriously and adjusted our game....
Went up with no expectations. Caution was on high. Saw the activity under blue-sky’s famous cornice and took notice. We encountered a couple other riders on the skin up, as well as at the top of Benchie. We all talked about our observations and our plan of action. They had mentioned having observed avi activity next to Tele-Line. The activity was visible from the top in a couple different areas....
This weekend had some of the best action the skiing world could hope for. The final standings were as follows: 1. Kaya Turski - 92.25 2. Devin Logan – 90.50 3. Emilia Wint - 85.00 4. Eveline Bhend - 80.00 5. Emma Dahlstrom - 41.25 6. After several weather delays that pushed the semi-finals back, there was no such trouble for the finals. Nick Goepper had eyes for the podium as he made it there last year....

Breck is insanely crowded on Saturdays and most skiers know that. That’s why we went skiing in Keystone yesterday. A lot of big creative features in Key, supersick! Elvis and Sol in the liftline. After what probably was the longest game of s.k.a.t.e ever, it was time for a coffee at Inxpot. Good day with friends skiing. Looks like we have got a lot of snow during the night, and the sun is shining....

Crazy swings in temperature last few days. 13 below to 40 above in a couple of days with a rain snow mix yesterday in town. Paulie dropped and met me in a cluster of dense old growth. The upper section skied well and the dense snow was nice supportive powder turns of the year. As we entered the middle section, things changed dramatically. We leapfrogged down to the traverse out, staying next to the ridgeline....
Our goal has always been to promote back country safety and improve the quality of riders in the zone. These folks will be back there whether EVI exists or not. Certainly, keeping the EV zone a place that everyone can enjoy is a paramount concern for us all.
On our way out we stopped at the BCA park n did some practice digs. Decided to go anyway. Once we started to go through the windloaded areas I jumped off the track to give it a feel. So we quick dug a pit. I think people refer to it as half chute. It was a rugged hike and it seemed wicked warm today. the snow was super sticky and heavy....
